Hi all, hello and any advice please.

Hi to everyone, not an owner yet, but me and my family have made the decision that we want a Staff. Me and my husband have had dogs before. We have two young Girls 7 & 4 who are involved in this decision. We live an outdoor life so exercising is not a problem, and will attend training and socialising groups. Any advice welcomed ie, where to find a pup would prefer Dog over Bitch, anyway thanks for now, Holly.

If you're buying a puppy, please make sure that the breeders have all the necessary health tests in place (if you're not sure, just ask & we'll tell you what you need), and that the litter is not inbred (again, we can help you if you're not sure).

sorry i cant offer any advice on buying a pup as i would only ever rescue

Love the support for rescue dogs going on here!

I understand that puppies are appealing - but as a mother of 3 kids (ages 2 to 11) - there are distinct advtanges to rescuing an older dog.

But it's also worth bearing in mind that many staffies that need re-homing can be as young as a few weeks old... so it really is worth checking out rescue centres first.

If you do go down this route be 100% certain that all paperwork is in order , you are comfortable with the breeder , health checks done etc. (it will be highly doubtful from such sources, good breeders don't tend to have to use such sites due to reputation and word of mouth )

Another starting point for breeders as not all newer breeder (like mine) get on KC lists would be Champdogs
