raw meat?

hi, im just wanted to know if its ok to give my boy raw meats? just, my dad is a butcher and i could get plenty of raw meats etc off him. so.... do you guys recommend it? if so what things should i get?

Are you considering a completely raw diet or just the odd bit?

just the odd bit, maybe a couple of times a week

Raw meat's fine - try not to mix it with his normal food, though, as the digestion times are different & you could upset his stomach.

all i can say is you lucky barstewart having a butcher for a dad spike will be like a kid in a candy store with the treats you will get him
i would go for lamb ribs, chicken wings ,tripe, meaty bones (you could try liver kidneys and heart)but mine and i know others will not touch them.
only thing i stay away from is pork(just my choice).
to tell the truth your in a good position to go all in raw or atleast raw breakfast and kibble evening meal

I'd get chicken wings/carcass, lamb ribs, pork ribs, beef ribs things like that. But it's best to start with chicken if he's never had raw meat before

nothing to do with the meat its just im not a lover of pork myself so iv carried it over to memphis lol

well tried spike on raw chicken, played with it but thats about it really, oh well least i tried lol

Try a little bit of beef heart. That'll often tempt them. Don't forget that it's a new experience for most dogs & it's totally different from commercial food. It can sometimes take a couple of goes for them to catch on!
