Blowing his coat again....

Familiar story to us all, just sitting watching TV marley layed accross me and im stroking his backside when I notice hair..and lots of hair. hair floating about and covering the sofa, my hand and his backside (the least hairy part of him). its like turning on an industrial fan in a barbers shop. yes he's blowing his coat for the second time this year and now I know i have two weeks of this. the pic shows 5 mins of stroking his backside and NOT grooming!!! you can imagine what my house will look like, especially next year when I have him and laska doing it. It took about a week to unclog the washing machine last time after washing all my hairy clothes and bedding. any sheep shearers out there?

Hi Nathan, have you just put your central heating on ? This used to do it for a previous pup of mine.

I love how neither of mine shed almost none at all

Unfotunatly he inherited his fathers coat which is to shead lightly most of the year but blow twice a year where the whole undercoat comes out. His dad is a siberian husky and he has a similar but shorter coat, blowing is a natural husky trait. You should see his neck when i groom him its epic. May try vid it in garden at weekend. The birds loved it in the spring.

I really want a staffski! Not so sure now! That must take some grooming. Stunning though Xx

I realy want a moo! I love your girl shes a stunner. As for grooming it aint so bad, just use a rubber hand pad once a week and then a shedding blade when he blows. Hardest thing is he falls asleep so have to manhandle him onto his other side when done.

When or if I get the chance, I will be picking your brains again Xx

I used to get the same thing with the GSDs & BSDs - it's a real pain for 4 weeks a year!

Same here with my long haired gsds ( another reason I went for staffs lol)

fur shedding drives me nuts, one of the reasons i chose nice short hair staffy lol! he does shed a little bit but easily manageable. my mums got a golden lab and i swear she sheds all year round.

Omg yeah and gsd are twice the size of marley...that is alot of hair!

Oh boy thats a lot of hair, the birdies are going to love this for their nests
