Uploading Photos

If you can just search your computer files and download a photo to be your avatar, why do you have to go through such a performance to get any other photo onto the website?

Because that's how it is I'm afraid , it's what everybody else has to do. I can only assume it is due to the massive amount of memory space it would consume on the server, if you notice then your avatar is limited in size

I believe it would require way too much server space. When you use photoshop it's not a problem. Here's a link to explain the process
