Snapping? Empty Snapping?

Post by Guest Thu Sep 20 2012, 20:51

Yesterday when we were done walking Loki, we put him into the boot of the car (we always do this so it's nothing new) and he snapped at me and then started barking. They sounded like deep barks, and the snapping he'd never done before I don't think, so that had me worried. But he also was going from barking to whining, and it was just after he'd had a long play with his friend Buster, so maybe he was just demanding we let him out to play some more. Do puppies snap anyway, or was this an aggression thing?

Not aggression, don't worry. He's voicing an opinion! Laughing He hasn't finished his fun & you're spoiling it for him!

Just ignore it & act as though nothing's happened. Just put him in the car, shut the door & go - he's pushing his luck! Big Grin

Bella is a year old and will still try to get away with this from time to time. She snaps her jaws together and does a deep bark, then whine, then chirpy noise. It's always when she thinks she should be getting attention or there is something she wants she can't reach. I usually tell her not to be a cheeky madam and ignore her Big Grin

Thanks for clearing it up Smile just wondering because his "listen to me now!" bark tends to be a squeak Laughing but this one was a deep bark riiiight down my ear drum. Felt dizzy for like an hour afterwards :\

I think this one wasn't so much "listen to me" as "you gotta be kidding, I don't want to angry !"
