I fed Bailey at 7-8am, 1pm and 6pm. I started gradually reducing the 1pm meal and adding it to the morning and afternoon ones! Then eventually he was fed 7-8am and 6pm and I gradually fed earlier in the afternoon and now he gets fed at 7-10am (whenever he decides to get up and have his walk etc Laughing ) and 4-5pm!

What should be the gap between the meals?

I gradually reduce the mid day meal & increase the other two.

Dempsey still gets 2 feeds a day & always will - one around 8 or 9am & one around 5 or 6pm.

We give Rocky 3 meals a day. One at around 8am then his dinner at around 5pm then a little supper at around 9pm. He seems to sleep better after having some supper.

There's not really a set gap as such, obviously not 7am then 1pm, just whatever works for you! Bailey goes roughly 7-9hours between meals, depending when he has his breakfast!

I went straight to two meals a day, they get a 3rd of there quota at around 12:30 and then the rest at 20:30 after their big walk. I tried a morning feed but they just wasnt intrested and even the 12:30 one takes them ages to eat.

We are still doing 3 meals a day. It seems to keep her from eating too quickly.

I think it's whatever fits into your own schedule. For example an 8.30pm feed would be way too late for me & I'm often not in at lunch time, so for me morning & late afternoon is better.

yeah i think as long as there is a routine the dogs will be happy. my two and especially marley seem to feed depending on excersise. he simply wont eat if he hasnt been walked. the mid day feed in the week is a slow affair but at weekends he gets and extra walk so gets three feeds all of which are gone in mins. I've been wondering if he's inherited the husky metabolism

I'm one of the only people on here who feeds just once a day, at roughly 3-4pm as I find it easier with feeding raw. But it's up to you Smile

I started yesterday, move his morning meal from 7.30 to 9am,I'm cutting the middle meals slowly and adding it to morning and afternoon ones. Is normal that his poo's tiny bit loose? I'm might be a bit paranoid but he's very sensitive tummy and any change in his poo worries me.

I'm still feeding Hugo 4 times a day and he's nearly 5 monts, will probably reduce it to 3 times (8am, 5pm & 8:30) when he hits 5 months.

Normally by 3 months of age you should cut down the 3 meals & then down to 2 meals by about 6 months.

Having two meals so close together (5pm & 8.30pm) is probably not too good & could encourage overeating/bloating.

Perhaps I'll switch to 3 times (8am, 1pm, 6pm) until he reaches 6 months and then switch to 2 a day (8am and 5:30).

We're getting there slowly. Moved his morning meal to 10am,Debo's still have 40g of his middle meal and then 8pm last meal. By Sunday want to do only 2 meals , at 10-11 and 7-8pm. I take him in the morning for walk and do training with treat-he seems to be more focus when his hungry.
