I hope it is ok to post this on here, The Oldies Club do a wonderful job with old dogs and they need to move a Collie asap. This is what I got from them.

Wonder if you are able to help us with the following urgent transport. Tess
14 years old Border Collie needs to come in to foster home asap.
Needs to be collected from North Sheilds NE29 and taken to Liverpool L16

Full route will take 2 hours 57 mins maybe A1(M), A1, A1(M), M1, M62 but
locals may know of a better route

If you can help us could you please state which day/s you are available and
where you could meet up either side of your journey. I will then work on
finding others to fit in with this and match up offers that go together

Further information re dog etc will be given. Tess needs to travel in a
safe and secure manner, behind a sturdy dog guard and/or in a crate. Great
care needed when placing in and out of vehicles or handing between
individuals incase he manages to escape.

Sorry if this is out of your area. Trying to reach as many folk as I can to
get this arranged quickly

*I have an offer for Thursday 13/09 to collect her from North Sheilds and take to
Yorkshire region. One lady mentions Wetherby Services. I'm waiting for
confirmation from another where they can take her to. *

Thanks

Thanks Caryll, unlike a lot of rescues The Oldies Club doesn't distinguise between breeds, so many won't take Bull breeds especially Staffies because they are difficult to find homes for, they only take the eassy to rehome dogs which to me is not dog rescue. It wouldn't hurt them to have 1 hard to rehome dog all the time, it will get rehomed eventually.

I think it's the stigma attached to them; add to that an elderly bull breed & you've got, in their eyes, an un-rehomable dog. Sad

I don't know if this will help, but someone has said that Homecheck Volunteer Network UK on Facebook might be able help - worth a try!

I don't know if its too late or already sorted but if the journey date can be changed I could do Wetherby services on Sunday from 13.00 onwards , and complete the full journey to Liverpool for this old boy.

As far as travel security I can provide a medium sized crate 800 x 550 x 600 high for boot travel in my estate car or if a harness is available then rear seat belt travel is an alternative ( I have adapters for my 2 dogs )
