14 Week old Bella Staff X ABD

Hello all, this is my first post, been browsing the forum and it seems a good place with nice people.

Ive uploaded pics of the new addition to the family Bella, she is 14 weeks old Staffy cross American bulldog.

She is quite small seen as though she has ABD in her, so I think she is more Staff than ABD.

Someone said to me the other day "Are you sure she isn't a pitbull?" I don't think she is, and I know APBT are amazing/loving/great beeds but would appreciate it if anyone has any idea in this. But as far as I know she is Staff x ABD.

As for being a pitbull, shes far too young too judge that wont be able too tell until shes 1 year atleast.
Do you live in england? please be careful and if anyone asks just say staffy cross because pitbulls are banned and can be seized by law even if they have never done a thing wrong.

Yeh I live in England, yeh I know APBT's are banned, but what I didn't realise before I got her is that any 'pit-type dog' any dog which measures up to what a APBT does can be took off you! How can they take a dog off you just because it 'looks' like a APBT. But apparently when the ABD is crossed with a staff they measure up to a APBT.

I just don't want to get her taken from me as she is brilliant natured and is been brought up properly.

If anyone ever wants to know just tell them you have a Staffy cross. Bella is beautiful.

unfortantly the law in an a*** and as you say any dog demmed as type can be taken off you not necc pts as they can put it ona register and have too follow certain restrictions muzzled etc. But there are people out there that can help if that ever happended main thing is not too sign a thing.

Just enjoy and socilise her well and keep her nose clean. x

She is been brought up with my rescue dog Angus who is a Border terrier X Bichon frise who has a brilliant temperament.

She plays with him ALL day trys pulling him around by his collar and he doesn't flinch he just lets her drag him around. She is also around the cat all the time, so she is used to dogs & cats.

Angus is the best natured dog I have ever known (I think he was beaten before I got him, as if I shout he hides and crys) I just hope Bella grows up to be as good as Angus (I'm sure she will).

They both love going to the beach and running though sand/sea.

Angus doesn't play at all he just wants to sleep/fuss all day.

I hope Bella likes to play ball etc, is there anything to do which encourages them to play more?

As for the Pitbull thing, I honestly wouldn't see it as a reason to doubt she is what you say she is. I've had like three people ask if Loki is a Pitbull puppy because the breeds look similar and it's a banned breed, so it's something people have a pull towards, they can't help but think it's something "bad" instead of the most obvious.

Thanks anattyrat she settled right in within 2 days she's gorgeous just wants to play all the time. I just can't judge what size she's going to be at all the vet said 20kg but she looks kinda small atm. Thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about the pit bull thing, it does depend what area you're in and you do get some jumped up idiots "enforcing the law" by just grabbing people's dogs but generally only in the bigger cities. At risk of repeating what the others have said, socialize her as much as possible and ensure that she's trained well, if she's behaving well in public people will have no reason to draw any negative attention to her, only positive.

People ask me if my dog's a pit bull all of the time, and ask where I got my dog and if i'll cross her with their "pit bull" which is usually just a badly bred staffy. The sad thing is my dog's a rescue from an unfortunate background that was never socialized so she can be very badly behaved in public and I have to muzzle her in some situations, but luckily for me the dog wardens know me through my work, and they've checked Bis three times when she first came into the centre, so they've got nothing on her. When she gets to 9 months, if you wanted to, you could get her checked and then you would have proof to carry with you all of the time of your dogs breeding, but then of course if her measurements did add up to be an APBT you could be in trouble.

The law is ridiculous, i've had a shar pei x staffy measure up to be an APBT more than once it really is all looks, out of the high numbers we have PTS I reckon only one of them was a real Pit Bull and loads were labrador x staffy's because they measure up perfectly, but you can't go against the law unfortunately. I've had lots of american bull dog x staffs in with me, and depending on whether the cross is of the Johnson's or the Smith's variety the resemblance isn't very high, they're usually much too droopy

OMG, she is the DOUBLE of my boy as a pup. Exact same colour and same black rims and mask as my boy - mine was chunkier but that's literally the only difference. She is absolutely adorable.

Awww she's gorgeous i would say she is a very slight cross if it's AB she is crossed with, definitely more staff in her then AB. Gorgeous none the less
