hi guys Empty hi guys

not been arounf for few weeks had health problems on mend now
ruby n murfy doing fine although murfy getting slower as his sight
is almost gone now very little hearing it is getting to decision time
once his site and hearing has gone what do i do? Sad
anyway hello to all new members since i was last here and any comments on
above appreciated

A tough decision to have to make at any time. I'm sure none of us would choose to see our beloved pets in pain.
I guess it comes down to standard and quality of life. See if you can have a word with your vet and see what they say too.

Hey good to hear from you , sorry your having to start thinking , Kathy's advice is great and it is all about quality of life, you may be surprised about how much they can manage. My vet told me "you will know in your own heart when the time is right, and if you have to come and ask me then it's not the right time" >Big Grin<

thanks guys hes doing ok dosnt want to walk as far as ruby so take them both on short walk have a joint lead thing so ruby keeps him safe then drop him home and take ruby for blast but at present he is coping and as Dave said im sure ill know when time comes and i know its going to be difficult but his wellbeing comes first but for now he coping just odd accidents overnight xx

glad your back again,sorry you are having to go through this but i guess its some thing we are all going to do at some point.i would def speak to your vet and see first that he is'nt in any pain and how he will manage when they do go all together.its a horrible thing to have to think about,we're all here for you >Big Grin<

thanks stella hes quite perky at time just today he was
chasing ruby in garden for 20 min hes not in pain only thing
i find upsets him is sudden loud noises make him nervouse
but hes still can smell food from hundred yards lol and he
finds his way home so just taking one day at time xx

if he's not in any pain and knows where his food is,id be happy with that if i were you too.like you say just take one day at a time and enjoy him.17 is a great age.how is ruby with him,does she look after him?

only time i have seen ruby show any aggression was when a bigger dog
charged towards murfy she jumped between them and warned other dog
off. when i explained to owner of other dog she was great ruby didnt attack
just warned it off and when there on joint lead she follows him only when i call will she bring him back to me
