Poor little fella. RIP.

I don't understand why he had to be PTS though - he was still strong enough to stand. stomp

Thats sad. They never try with the older ones cause noone wants an old dog. if it had of been younger it would have been saved.

That's the really sad part.
I'd prefer an older staffy to a needle-toothed cupboard door-eating machine any time.

Crying Re: Neglected dog found tied to tree

Argh! I hate it when any dog comes into kennels but the old ones are always the most heartbreaking! We have tried to keep really old dogs before but a lot of them end up dying in kennels and it's unfair to keep them there for so long, we generally keep anything 10 years or younger.. Sadly people don't want young staffies let alone old ones, we've got over 70 with us at the moment; some only a few months old and it's the same in most rescue centres in the UK! It's not the nicest of environments for them to spend their last months in so it's usually the kindest thing to do Sad

It's so hard to understand when you're not in it though, I couldn't get my head around it for months when I first started rescue work! Hope he's in a better place now poor fella Sad

When I worked in rescue kennels it was the same with greyhounds they would end up with sores all over even when on plenty of blankets and no one wanted them
So sad rip little fellow you are in a better place now

It's horrible isn't it Sad We've had an influx of lurchers and greyhounds again recently, 7 in 3 days and all in a state, poor things!
