Closing Ceremony..........

............who is going to be watching (and thats goes for all of you that haven't been into the Olympics)???

I think it's on in the wee small hours over here, so will probably be sleeping

And we have not done anywhere near as well as in the past

Thankfully the last few days have been a little bit kind to us

if its any thing like the opening ceremony it will be awesome!

Just about to go and watch it I've been trying to catch as much of the Olympics as I can when I actually get the remote off my daughter lol

Me too, shows that we can still get things right once in a while. We have done an amazing job hosting the games

yeap they all did us very proud,even those that did'nt get a medal.just such a big aceivement to get there and represent your country,i think it really brought every one together,well done

Im not watching out of principle as i dont think its right that the paraolympics dont get a share of the limelight (even bbc not covering)as i feel paraolympic athletes put in if not more effert in there training.
to me paraolympics should be included in the main games and the time needed covered in the tv media equel to able bodied athletes

bump sure others must have the same feeling on this as to me they are just as an acheviment for the athletes

true, i think they deserve the same recognition as everyone else. often they train harder than your average olympian, only to brushed aside for able bodied athletes.happens every time

I would worry that by running alongside it would be over-shaddowed but the hype from the last two weeks has boosted ticket sales for the paralympic events and there seems like there is a fair bit of coverage this time C4, E4 and More 4 I think and there is a programme on BBC2 on Thursday night on Stoke Mandeville and how the paralympics came about

i agree there is a lot of coverage on the tv normally this would be great but with it being in england the BBC should have had a part in it as they are paramount the british tv coverage channel.
and i think a lot of people will boost the ticket sales due to the fact you couldnt get the tickets for the able bodied games due to screw ups lol

just seen on the news some snipits even the flag is down and passes on to brazil.WTF do they do it with no propper flag or anything sorry i know it happens every time but i feel its a total disgrase

I have to agree with this, but I have only just seen and I did watch the closing ceremony. I think the paraolympics should have been mentioned at least.

I never realised they weren't and agree.
TBH I was under the impression that the paraolympics hadn't started yet and was a seperate event which was coming up.
They seem to have plenty of adverts about them but apart from that I have seen nothing else about them

it was on live over here at 4am this morning ! it got rave reviews on the news here tonight and they are just repeating it here now at a more respectful 9.30 pm ! So far it has been awesome ...but I can't wait for the last performance..I believe it is Roger Daltry! Woo hoo!!

Looking a little into it. I think one of the reasons why the paraolympics are seperate from the able bodies olympics is because they have different H&S regs. Also allot of adjustments have to be made e.g surface types are different so it makes it impossible to be able to use the same courts. So the olympics finish then it gives them a couple of weeks to make all the changes and meet the different H&S regs.
