New to Staffy Ownership (well nearly!!)

We have just put a deposit down on a Staffy pup (a brindle female), and we can't wait to go collect her.

Things have moved on a little bit since my first post. We have now decided to go for 2 puppies from this litter. We are getting to Brindle Girls which we are going to be picking up on Sunday.

Got sent a pic the other day of them both together which i will upload later

After reading the thread about having two out of the same litter being a definite no no we have changed our minds on this.

However we still do want two staffs. What is a good age to be thinking bout getting another? Or doesn't it matter as long as they're from different litters.

For example if we went elsewhere could we get another one more or less now without hopefully having the fighting problems?

Pleased you've made your own minds up about this one , I think you are making the right move. Generally it is recommended to go fr 1 boy , 1 girl and try and keep a good age gap between them (2/3 years) however a few of our members are successful with much less than this.
What you have to remember is a staffy pup although very rewarding can be a real handful so get one out of the way before you get the next, unless you already have good experience

We will enjoy Maddie first and get her trained up before looking at getting another

We had Tilly first , and Tommy when Tilly was about 23months, she is still a pup but a very well behaved pup and he does pick stuff up off her like eating grass and stuff , nothing particularly useful

Have some fun with Maddie and try and socialise her as much as possible, this will give you a good indication and preparation for her acceptance of another in a year or 2
