A Great Walk Empty A Great Walk

Post by Kathy Fri Jul 13 2012, 16:58

Just got back from the park with Rocky who's recall I have been working on for some time, which probably sounds familiar.

I was able today to just drop the lead whilst we were in the park as no-one was around. I was so proud of him as he walked so nicely by my side without a flinch. I thought as the park was so empty this afternoon it would be a good time to try it.

I was expecting him to bolt off but he didn't. I dont think he even realised I had let go of the lead. He then stood still and had his usual back scratch and a tummy rub as he rolled over and nearly went in a puddle. He seems a very happy lad today and very content

As we drove out of the park we had to splash through the large puddle there, we always have to do this, Rocky made me do it Big Grin

I would love to do that kathy.. please share you tips of how its all payed off for you..

With lola weve tried stoping & sitting everytime she pulls (which is all the time, You take a step & have to sit) lol
We have tried walking backwards & weve also tried a quick jolt of the lead with voice commands but nothing sticks!

Its never an enjoyable walk with lola Sad

This was on the way back to the car after a good walk and play, he seemed to be quite chilled out so I just dropped the lead. Thankfully the park was empty which did help, no distractions.

Sorry was on my own so sadly didn't have the camera with me otherwise would have if I was with the OH.
