First play date with another staffy

I took Caley on her first play date with a 14 month old Staffy, this other staffy is rather excitable so was expecting chaos...no they had a little sniff at each other and then virtually ignored each other on our walk trotting along happily All my worrying for was nothing. My friend said her dog normally loves a rough and tumble with other dogs, but it was as though she knew Caley was too small to be too excited around her..bless

I had one very tired pup who then slept for 2 hours. Same time next week for us.

Quick question, how do you clean the inside of your dogs ears, Caley's are looking grubby so I used baby wipe to clean them, she didn't seem bothered, but wonder if this is the right thing to do. Thanks

what do you mean by clean ? were they muddy ? or earwax?

If it is just dirt i use either baby wipes or warm water and cotton wool i am so glad she had a lovely walk and it was a good experience for her she is a beauty x

There are funny bunch, Moo will play ruff with 1 dog, the rest she will leave! Any pics at all lol

As for the ears, I have a cleaner from the vets (left over from her everlasting ear infections) which goes on a chunk of cotton wool and just smear it round, being quite firm to hold the ear, if that makes sense, not down the ear/cannal so to speak.

Its just the inside of her ear where it looks grubby, the baby wipes did the trick and she seemed to like me doing it.

Sorry I never got photos this time I was caught up in the fun...will get some next week, my friends dog khloe is so lovely as well, I'm hoping they will become great mates..

u can use cotton buds as dogs ears have a different ear canal to usalso u can get ear wipes specfic for dogs

Awesome. Glad the play date went well. These dogs are a funny lot. They seem to know how to control the intensity of their play around fragile little ones. Be warned, when they suss out their playmates to be equal the play gets very boisterous. I use baby wipes on Tyson's ears but just the outer bits and not inside the canal. Just remove dirt in those creases.
