talking to your dog

well out for our morning walk a min ago and it got me thinking,as we were walking along not a care in the world,i was laughing at sash as she was chasing the birds and being mad as she is and talking to her just like she was a person and i thought if any one was walking along and heard me talking and laughing at my girl they would prob think i was mad ,please tell me you all talk to your dogs other wise im off to see the doctor !!

We both talk to Suki all the time

I'm always talking to mia when we're out walking, she still gets a big fuss and good girl etc when she does her toilet, shes been housetrained for the last 5 months or so!!

The missus here. I talk to Sophie ALL the time, both indoors and out. I'm even talking to her as I type this. She sort of gets a running comentary of my day, apart from lavishing praise on her when she is really good.

i talk to billy all the time

always talking to Tilly , and she always listens , not like some other people in the house

I talk to Millie and Bella all the time. I'm sure people must think I'm a bit strange when I'm walking along talking and laughing with 2 dogs.
Karen, I still praise Millie when she does the toilet and she's 4. I think it's just habit now

But as the owner of a lab mix once said to me.......please stop asking my dog if he has used your credit card to buy nylabones otherwise ill call the police.

I own a 13 yrs old Malamute to whom I talk daily, especially during the walks.
I even say "Bless you" when he sneezes!
(the only thing now is that he is deaf due to old age).

I know that when my pup STB (Vigo) arrives that I will talk to him also.
(well, to be honest, I'm talking to him every time I come to visit him, almost every weekend!)

Talk to your dogs, it's sweet!!

Id only worry if they start talking back then is time for the men in white jackets LOL

Tyson and I have conversations all the time. Sometime I think he may even understand a little but he has not answered back as yet

Haha yup i talk too the pooches, we all must be mad if you are . Get more sense from the pooches than people haha x

I talk to Rocky all the time anyway, if I do take him for a walk on my own I'm chatting away to him too. He stills gets "Good Boy" when he goes to the toilet outside too, and yes I think its out of habit too.

The way I chat away to him people must think I'm bonkers

I talk to both mine and in their own way they talk back our gsds would talk which was freeky at first but we sort of miss it now they are gone

I talk to Lils all the time as I wanted her to get used to the sound of my voice. Most of the time its just ramblings but she looks at me as if she knows what I mean. I took her out earlier and she stopped to look at something and she was being a bit stubborn about moving again and I said what's the chance of us getting home before the rain starts. She stopped what she was doing, looked up at the sky, looked at me and walked off quick.

When I talk to Blue he looks at me, rolls his eyes then runs off quick

thanks every one,i was starting to have my doubt's about my sanity but i must be as sane as you lot then

I very often wonder if they do know what we are chatting on about, some of the looks I get from Rocky I think he knows every word.

I even ask them questions. Yep people probably laugh at me but I honestly don't give a hoot. My wife says I sound like a freak talking to them all the time, but she does the same.

Yep we always talk to Pippa.. she is part of the family

I talk to Ledger all the time this morning watching the torch relay it was "it's ok I know it's loud" "no that's not your shopping bag" and "c'mon I know you don't like smoke but we have to go this way" (roadside bbqs were an issue, he normally won't go anywhere near bonfire smoke)

Some of it when we are out is more directed at other people more a commentry of what Ledger is thinking but unashamedly I talk to him all the time at home and he does talk to me just in his own way

i never stop talking to woody - he cocks his head to 1 side and pricks his ears up like he is really paying attention even the bloke next door talks to him, funniest one ever i was in the kitchen listening " now woody have you been a naughty boy as i heard mummy shouting at you" he's as nuts as me!!!

In a cafe the other day with Lola when a guy walks in and says to her "hello" she answered back with a "awoo" and the whole place was in stitches.She does this a lot ,talking rather than barking,wonderful.

I always talk to marley lol, I read somewhere that it is good to do so as well because even though they have no idea what your talking about they pick up alot from the tones in your voice
