hi some advise please, today after playing with her boomer ball, Holly decided to take a leak
on the side of the path. i noticed that her pee was a bit rusty looking in colour.

i hate to look up the internet to find out all the horror stores, and i know the vet is a phone call away, but i could use some staffy owners advise nail biting
I'm hoping she is just bit dehydrated as she really works out with that ball.

when i got her home she tanned her water bowl, also if it helps she has always since a pup drank way to fast and tends to throw up some amount water afterwards. nail biting

colour is usually yellowy or golden yellow. nail biting

If she was hot & tired it could well be that she was a little dehydrated. Don't worry too much, just keep an eye on her over the next few days, and if it doesn't return to normal by, say, thursday then give the vets a ring.

With diabetes there's normally a sudden abnormal increase in drinking. If she's always been like that then hopefully that isn't the problem.

Can't really add to that other than if the weather is suddenly warmer or her exercise was recently increased that could also contribute to her being a little dehydrated

Thanks every one, I'm sure I'm not the only one who worries about there pets, its like having a baby, it can't tell you whats sore... as for the drinking she tends not to drink a lot during the day, but its when she gets home from playing in the park and drinks she empties the bowl far to fast. I have started to only put small amounts in her bowl and top it up during her drinking. Smile

Hi,
I hope Holly is fine now!
It seemed to me that Stella did not drink enough so I give her goat milk with water sometimes or water with fish oil and then she drinks Love Struck
Her pee is always lighter when she drinks more and I carry the goat milk mixed with water and a wee bowl with us even when I take her for longer trips so she can drink Blushing
I've seen a special bowl for dog drinking too fast, I have never had it myself.

Hi, glad to hear Holly is fine, she must always need special hydration after the amount of exercise she gets Smile
I could not walk Stella that much recently because of all the trips and stuff but I know she limps on her left paw when she runs too much or steps badly. It is strange. But she runs and plays and does not limp too often or badly. There is the old sore and I got a new ointment to use, I hope she's getting it even now when I'm not there, I'll see how it goes in next couple of days, I only started giving it to her Monday night. Fingers crossed.
I wanted to book her for neutering and have the paw checked at the same time (in anaesthesy) but she came into season during weekend;-)
I believe this cream might help I don't remember the active compound, though, it's called Betadine.
Best wishes Wink
