I think it happened then also it's just that it didn't make the news as much.

I'm thinking as a percentage of population rather than absolute numbers

i got a cousin who live in london where he did live he coul og go right becasue if he went left there was a chance of getting rob....

i wonder if american style boot camps would work? obviously not the fighting side but the discipline and taking pride in appearance, teach them money doesn't grow on tree's and they have to work to get what they want and can't go running to mummy

I agree with you, kids these days are bored, hate competition, have low self worth and allow themselves to slide into * lives too easily. being part of a gang just massages their bruised egos

i think it's lads/girls around 14 to19 is where the goverment should be starting and stop them turning to gangs,

5 years boot camp or national service...

anybody watch that Scenes from a Teenage Killing where this kid got stab to death the the rival gang went to the chruch and started trouble shame on you

military schools for problem kids, similar to boot camp but let kids 13 up to 18, i seem to remember watching a programme where parents who were having big problems with problem kids could sign over they're child to the military rather than sending them to a juvenile correctional facility, i know my nephew needs something like that

modern society is plagued with short termism in the corporate world as well as local and central governments, consequently there are no imediate plans for untrained youths. we all suffer from it and it will have to change as uk has now a let down a whole generation

that good one a 3 strike rules for kids 13 to 18 year old? if any kid get trouble 3 times they get sent to a militry school till they 18 plus?

london is as safe as anywhere, there are just more people here

it was on that scenes from a teenage, my consuin live in a bad area for while and he didn't feel safe going the 1 way becasue of the gangs alot of people got rob... he works for NHS he see alot of this.

there are ghetto parts in london, just like anywhere else in the UK, there is a thing though if kids are in a gang then they fight via postcodes.

I feel safer here in London than I would Burnley

the population of London is a whopping 7,172,000. This is almost 15% of the entire population of Britain! Another interesting fact, there are more citizens under age 16 than there are adults!

so you would expect more crime more murders beacuse of the ratio
