Today we become three... (updated with pics)

Today is the big day! Well, after a long week of work and travel, I going to pick up my wife's staff tonight! I'm going to work really hard to try to let her bond to this one without my interferance, but it will take loads of self control. She isn't sure yet about the name. Piglet (aka Piggie), is a name we aren't super keen on, but she has had it for two years. We are thinking perhaps Piggie Wiggie or Miss. Piggle-Wiggle or something. Guess we will wait and see what comes out when we meet her. I'll get some picks up as soon as I can but I'm not picking her up for another 16 hours or so. I think it will go great. Both Monte and Frosty have met her in the past.

It will be a long wait today but I am so behind on everything so I'm just worried I won't get enough things done. Also, hoping her new collar shows up so I don't have to borrow one of the boys for her. Hope she is feeling photogenic! I do know that she recently had some hair loss from some hormone thing after being spayed so I'm not sure if she is as darling looking as she will be in the future. She has a long day of travel today... already on the plane.

Wow Ben so exciting. Cannot wait to see the pictures and hope she fits in as seemlessly as Frosty did. My grand daughter is never without her piglet (Winnie The Pooh) and calls it "piggett" which is cute.

Where is she coming from that she is on a flight?

Ty, I have gotten all my dogs through a breeder in Virginia so they have to fly cross country. Monte was a dog she was showing that I purchased, but I rescued Frosty and now Piggie through her. She can't help herself. The backstory on each of the two is different, but this lady is really something else. She has a huge heart for people and animals. She actually rescued Piggie from a breeder who was in MD. The other breeder got in some trouble when their house caught fire and it was discovered that they had 120 dogs! Piggie was one of five my friend took on. She has had her for nearly a year to work with her and make sure that she was fit to be rehomed. Now, after all that time I am taking her. Piggie was the last of the five to find a home (actually one had to be put down for some reason). Frosty was a slightly different situation, but still a rescue through her.

Bet you can't wait, looking forward to seeing them all together

Most likely Lee. I won't mess about. I'll snap and post. No guarantees they will be good photos though. I think you are about 24 hours ahead of me so I'll do my best.

Have a few hours to kill at the airport, so I usually use the airport internet when I get a bit bored with the sitting and waiting.
I think I will spend some of it on here as I'm usually asleep at that time of day

What about calling her Iggy or Ziggy? They have the same inflections as Piggie but aren't as...ridiculous. My dog answers to about five different names so you might be able to change it completely.

I'm with ya. I liked piggie but this one is going to try to be the wife's. So told her she had to decide. Maybe I won't have to give her a bath if my wife really wants to make this one her own. Lol. Only 6 hours now.

and I know what you mean about getting them to all sit nice. I will try, but it may be a few days...

Congrats on getting another babe, it should be fun with 3. We had 3 Jack Russells and a Rottie, we would walk them alone sometimes and people woukd always stop us and say "you have your hands full!". Cannot wait to see the pics of Peggy Sue.

Peggy is defo a piggie! She is going to have to go on a diet I think! Lol. She is a little on the terrified side at this point. We are giving her space. She made a couple turns about the family room and then returned to her crate and promptly fell asleep on the fresh bedding. This one is going to be a little work, but that is fine. The boys are leaving her alone surprising enough. Monte got tired of me telling him no and put himself to bed. Frosty is sleeping in front of her crate. I think she will fit in her nicely! This may be a little more slowly coming out of her shell thing.

I think you are right, she obviously needs her own space and time to adjust to her new surroundings.

She is probably a little overwhelmed by the last 24 hours happenings. Give her a big cuddle from me when she wakes. ><

I like the way Frosty is keeping guard and it's good that the boys have learned to keep their distance already. (well for the moment anyway)

Thanks everyone! Piggie Peggy is going to take a while. She is very attached to ye crate but she did eat. Haven't been able to get her outside without carrying her because she is so scared. Hope I can get her to go to the bathroom... The boys are so good with her and giving her some space.
