Greetings from a prospective SBT owner in Southern California

Greetings,

My wife and I want to add a new member to our family and that a staffy might be the right fit. We are getting close to pick a puppy (as soon as I find a breeder in SoCal) and any advice would be greatly appreciated. We have owned a high drive terrier (JRT) for 15 years so understand all the fun and exciting things that brings. The SBT looks like they can dial it back a little faster which would be refreshing.

IF anyone can refer me to a reputable breeder here in Southern California that would be great.

As a first stop, try contacting the Stafford Club of America - they can probably either point you in the right direction, or give you details of a local Stafford club who can help...

Hi and welcome! There used to be a really good breeder down there but they stopped breeding. I have heard good things about Sureshot Staffords in San Marcos but don't know them personally. Look them up on the breeder list at www.sbtca.com plus there are others as well to look into. However, I got mine from the East coast (full disclosure...).

You might try Bone A kennels in San Diego area this is where we lucky enough to get our SBT. They also have connections to other kennels as well.
