Rainbow Bridge

A short explanation about Rainbow Bridge.......

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thats so beautiful. Made me cry and again think of my little girl Esta. I like to think there is a place like that for all of our doggy babies who are no longer with us. I know one day we will meet again xxx

I had to have my wee dog Cally put to sleep last month after 12 happy years I miss her so much and it gives me comfort to know she is waiting at Rainbow Bridge- a lovely poem

It's a comfort to think my dear old Judy is there waiting for me. My Dad found Judy as a stray when I was 14 and he bought her home for me. Judy was a GSD/Lab cross and a beautiful natured dog. We used to have her carrying eggs around the house in her mouth, she was so gentle she never broke one.

When she was 8 years old she had her spleen removed, the vet gave her another 12 months max, that was then. We have the priveledge of having her company for another 18 months. RIP sweet girl, until we meet up again.

To read this stirs up so many emotions............... but so beautiful.

Not many things make me cry, but this did. Reading this whenever I miss Zac makes me miss him even more, but at the same time, it's comforting.

<3 awww Oscar is there right now waiting for me, when i do get there i will have the biggest juiciest bone in the world for him and he will be there to cuddle in and full my face with slaver once again <3

Caryll - that is beautiful and brings tears to my eyes remembering all the dogs I have loved and lost over the years. And the horses, I hope they are at Rainbow Bridge too.

In my own mind I'm sure that every animal there has ever been (including the unwanted ones!) go to Rainbow Brisge & wait for their special someone.
