Hi all hope you all had a superb christmas and doggy had an even better one:D

river usually eats dried food with a bit of doggy gravy, sometimes i mix in a bit of wet meat but i try not not as i know its full of crap (opss i meant rubbish!) but its mostly dry food. she has sardines twice a week which she woofs down. ok so what i waould like to know is, is it ok to give her raw meat aswell as the dried food, cos its a bit of a struggle to get her to eat the dried stuff unless its got rubbish caned meat or doggy gravy with it. she does is raw bones from butchers. but in our local pet shop the sell raw tripe, chicken beef etc, so i was wondering if it was ok to give her a square of that a couple of times a week aswell. sorry for the long post but i dont wanna make her overweight but im worried she is not eating enough and getting enough of the things she needs.

It's ok to feed both, but not together, if that makes sense! Dry food takes between 10 & 17 hours to digest & raw food takes about 4 to 6 hours, so if you feed them mixed together you can cause a stomach upset.

If you want to feed both then it's best to feed raw in the morning & dry in the evening.

Moo would have a sniff of her food and leave it. I did the norm and took it up after 10mins if she hadn't eaten it.

This went on for months so I decided to swap from JWB onto fish4dogs, she loves it, been a couple of months and she is still loving it!

Maybe give it a go Smile

Happy boxing day Xx

By the sounds of it shes not to keen on dry food put her on a raw diet you will find that shes as better energy levels and doesnt poop as much, if you are worried about your dog putting weight on, start weighting her food out so you can adjust the amount if you think she is putting weight or lossing weight

thank you. im sorry to keep asking questions, is the raw diet better for them? and also what would an average daily feeding routine be for a dog who is between 1-2 on a raw diet..i mean how much and what would i give her to eat in a week?? she does like raw food i have given her (separately) the odd bit of raw mince when im cooking for family etc. i think your right she is'nt keen on dry i have tried 3 dried foods so far and she struggles with all of them. thank you for all advice.

I prefer it, but it isn't for everyone or every dog.

Have a look through these sites....
