Why do they do it ??!?!

Well - my Diesel eats her own poop - unless I get to it first and clean it up....she will go out - have a poop - come bk in and within 20mins shes asking to go out again ..to eat it...

Anyway...it was like really early when she did her poop outside...so I hadnt been out to dispose of it...around mid morning we wer ehaving a nice snuggle on the sofa when she yawned and OMFG !!!! massive lump of it stuck in her teeth

I had to get it out armed with baby wipes, cotton buds and a sick bucket for me

OMG - and she just didnt give a monkeys lol

plz tell me its not just my Diesel that does this !

Sorry I shouldn't but......... thats gross. thankfully mine has never eaten her own poop or rolled in any.

Zac had a phase when toilet training and he went on the paper, he would eat it unless I got to it first ... Bleurgh!!! Thankfully he has stopped it but I was told by the trainer at puppy class to put some pineapple chunks in his food ... Apparently it tastes nice going in but not coming out, if you get my drift its meant to be bitter and puts them off. He stopped doing it before I had a chance to try it x x

I think the trick is to get rid of it before they do. Rocky has tried this before but as we are always out with him when he goes and give a firm "Leave" we don't have a problem now.

Sad to say as I think the sun shines out of my baby girl's bum , but she is a closet poo eater given the chance. Brought her back home a few weeks ago just after the last grass cut of the year off lead on the front lawn and thought she was munching on some dead grass. On closer examination found it was a jobby as 1 of the neighbour's dogs must have strayed on
What made it worse was when I shouted a firm no she looked at me licking her lips and wagging her tail like I was trying to stop her eating a nive juicy bone or something.
Needless to say no staffy kisses that night

Rommel is a shocker for eating another dog's poo but he is slowly growing out of it .... makes me barf just thinking about it

blue had a spell doing this when he was just a pup..and one of my previous staffs aswell.a loud NO anytime they went near it seemed to do the trick after a few days.i`ve been lead to believe a lot of pups will have a nibble now and again

my 2 are poo eaters from way back..not their own but the chook poo or our goat or sheep poo..and this afternoon Winston wolfed down a nice fresh fox poo ..I thought he was just going to sniff it while out walking but it was shovelled in before I could stop him! Maybe I"m not feeding him enough???

Mines never ate there own poop but will roll in it if they can...

we have suffered as you have and joked it puts a whole new perspective to '* breath' lol! Milo grew out of it when we began feeding raw but more so when we fed more bones rather than more protein
