How stupid am I?

Took Harry for a lovely long walk this morning and on the way home I noticed a lady with her dog that we know but decided to put Harry on the lead anyway and then gave him the ok to go over to the the dog to say a quick hello. What I had forgotten was that it was still around my neck (I put his lead round my neck tied like a scarf when I'm walking). How stupid am I? I was still bent over him as he pulled away and I nearly got garotted, thank goodness he has learned 'wait'

I do the same thing with Charlie's lead but luckily its only a short one so I wouldn't be able to put it back on him without taking it off my neck first. Good boy Harry for waiting when he was told and saving you from what could have been a very serious injury.
