as you know lottie barks and cowers away from strangers and loud noises. she is laid in her bed next to me at the moment all peaceful and quiet and the postman has just been. i am dying to get up and see what he has brought but when the letter box clattered she never reacted just looked up at me so i had better stay in my seat a bit longer to let her know we dont have to react to all noises angel that was very good

We're working on this issue as well. Suki will bark anytime someone comes near the house. She has devolped quite the big girl voice and it takes her a bit to settle.

we are just not reacting to anything much that we would want to Big Grin we just tell her QUIET but dont pet her cos petting her would be telling her its ok and its not.

We are doing about same. One of my friends is getting ready to move so he has sold his car. We work in the same building so we gave him a ride to work today. Our car looks like a police car with a barrier in the back so no one can get in front. I was in the back with Suki and she growled and barked at him for most of the 20 minute ride Surprised

They are a territorial bunch but I'm hoping we can figure out how to break the habit

It sounds as though Lottie is very intuative, its great thats shes taking leads from Lemmy and your behaviour as it shows she will learn easily. Hopefully any nervousness issues can be quickly dealt with Smile

I feel quite lucky after reading all that. Rocky (I probably shouldn'd say this) has never barked at the postman. Yet.
He just looks up at us as if to say "well, are you going to get that". doh

Lottie god love her has been with us 5 days now. she's our rescue and it will be a long haul but we will get all her fears under check one day but no reaction to the postman is one step she has taken out of the many she needs to take.

i love well behaved dogs though theyre easy Big Grin
