Greetings all from Oldham - M/cr

Hi all, just logged on to this site. Seems that there is a forum for just about anything. Recently (in the last few weeks) got a new addition to the family in the form of a staffy. 2yr old male, tan in colour, quite a mild temprement and very energetic. We are new to owning one of these dogs so dont know much about them. After being very apprehensive about owning one of these breeds - the usual stigma that has been attatched to them in recent years, we have grown very attatched to him as he is a very friendly dog, even with my 12yr old son who loves to wind him up! The only problem, if you can call it a problem, is that he seems to nip a lot when he gets excited. Its hard to believe how strong he is aswel for a young dog, noticed especially when we take him for a walk. Not too sure of his background but doesnt seem like he was abused in any way as he shows no aggression to any of us. He is house trained, apart from the first night we had him home where we had a small accident at the top of the stairs, but we expected at least something. Anyway, when i get chance i will stick a few pics up for you.

Thx. My lad named him Buster as in the dogs home he just had a number!
How do i get some pics on here, had a look and cant figure it out. Probably looking right at it but cant see it - typical bloke eh!

Open a www.photobucket.com account (its free)

Upload pics from your pc there and then copy and paste the 'img' code in your thread here. Can be a little slow though.

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. Nipping is normal but at 2 years old you should address the issue. Simply turn around and ignore him. They crave attention and quickly connect the fact that if they nip they don't get it. You will have to have everyone in the house do the same thing everytime so he doesn't get confused.
