Yes, & it's a good job, too. In the past 7 months Dempsey has cost over £3000 at the vets!!

I had it for Nitro which was a good thing as in his last few months i was buying him insulin and his trilostane for his cushings cost $315 for a 3 month supply, then there was his eye removal op and his other hospital visits. I got back 80% of the money that i paid, the only down side was that i had to keep paying for another 8 months after he passed away as we had to finish off the policy period, i am now considering it for Harley if the other days incident is repeated.

It really depends on the vet. Some want you to pay up front, or they'll arrange a 'loan' with interest until the insurance company pays out. Mine asks for a £20 admin fee (plus the excess, which for me is £75) and then they do a direct claim. If you find (or already have) a good vet, keep on their good side if you can. It pays in situations like that. My vet's actual policy is the customer pays up front & then claims back themselves, but I've never given them problems (but I've given them a lot of business!) so they'll do a direct claim. Always ask your vet what would happen if you needed to make a claim - ie would they do a direct claim on your behalf.

our vet does the claim direct, we have to pay the first 60 euro ourselves and then they do the rest
