Re: Advice On Pet Insurance.
I think it is a must. We pay about $300 per year and the insurance picks up 70% of the bill as long as it's not a prexisting condition. I think the younger they are when you get it the better. I'm not in your part of the world though so I am sure that someone will be along with a bit better info.

I'm with animal friends, a lot here recomend Sainsburys, suppose its anything between £10 - £15 a month. Heres a link where we've talked about it before, might be worth a look

Re: Advice On Pet Insurance.
I'd recommend insurance every time. When we got Dempsey my oh didn't want to bother with insurance, but I was keen to have the 3rd party liability. With a bull breed things can go spectacularly wrong & if someone decides to sue you, you've got real problems. So I took out insurance.
Two years later I'm so glad I did - £5500 in vet's bills, and all I've had to pay (apart from the premiums themselves, about £300) is 3 lots of £75 excess.
I started out with M & S, but at renewal they wanted to double the premium. I switched to Sainsbury's & stayed with them at renewal as they only increased the premiums by about £4 a month, and considering I'd claimed so much off them, I thought that was a pretty good deal.

its a must for any dog in my eyes, unless you have a spare few grand in the bank, i'm with direct line for my 20 week old staff its only about £10 a month, put it this way, a woman in my work never got her 2 Rotties insured and shes paid out more than 7K between them, and now she can’t get them insured

Go for as much as you can afford!
Mine's £7500 per illness/injury for life (ie they don't stop paying out after 12 months).
