Re: Flea Infestation Need Help Please!
Been there and just the thought of it all goes through me its horrible, I took in a stray cat which was infested I had Taz,Cassie and her 5 pups covered in flea's I had to throw out almost everything, firstly go to your vets and get a good product nothing of the shelves in stores etc. Second go to a herbal shop, get yourself plenty of bottles of tea tree oil dilute it and sprays all fabrics/materials every day and vacuum everyday also. You may kill the adult fleas but three days later their eggs hatch so you have to keep on top of it, spray and vacuum, you could also feed your dogs a garlic tablet once a week depending on their size and weight. I know someone on here uses garlic tablets and it has worked,
If none of these work you will have to get intouch with an exterimater, and leave the property for a few days stay with family or something and while their there treat your pets, if you cant afford vet flea treatment, its going to be harder but get ahold of dog shampoo which contains tea tree oil (online)
bath and comb (flea comb) your pets everyday it should be alright seens the weather is pretty good. if you look online there are quite a few natural home made remedies for flea treatment and prevention. good luck.

My real name is Claire but everyone calls me Rogue but its quite alright.madeira264527 wrote:Thanks Miss Rogue (Sorry dont know your real name, If that Isnt your real name lol ) I been told to flea all the animals, And use a flea bomb, All on same day doing It together, And wash beding from animals, Wash basically everything, I know probably gonna be costly, Guess only way of getting rid of the problem once and for all, But put on here see any other tips and advice could get.
Using a flea bomb you would have to leave the property for atleast 24 hours and be very careful because unless you get a flea bomb off of someone who knows what they are talking about aka an exterminater, the flea bomb could actually cause more fleas, it only takes the wrong kind of chemicals and the fleas could go into over drive hatch and reproduce even more rapidely.
Unless you wash the materials/clothes in a really hot wash or with something like tea tree oil then it won't work.

Yeah you have to put all food away and anilams out of the room for about 4 hours, Then vacuum again It says, With using the flea bomb, Im gonna try a poweder you put and vacuum In the carpet, Aparently that very effective, Because flea bomb Isnt exactly cheap, I know Its effective, But costly, And gonna flea all animals together, Try that If doesnt work might have to turn to professional help, Costly Im sure lol, And nice to meet you Claire Im miguel.

I forgot about the powder i used it was very good that along with tea tree oil was very affective so give that a go.
I also used pure lemon juice along the edges of my carpets etc stops them from coming from room to another etc, good luck and nice to meet you too.

Re: Flea Infestation Need Help Please!
Exactly what Claire says!
When I moved into my present house there was a flea infestation already there (the previous people had about a dozen cats & they'd never been treated!). I used a powder for the carpets & a flea spray from the vets (I didn't use the spot on stuff cause the vet said it wouldn't be fast enough for the level of infestation!).
I had to use the spray every other day & the vacuum out powder every day for about a week & it cleared it nicely! Plus, obviously all the bedding & cushion covers etc had to be washed. I also sprayed the covers with tea tree oil solution.

Re: Flea Infestation Need Help Please!
We had a similar problem a few years ago after some friends came to visit with their dog who we hadn't realised was crawling with fleas. I used eucaluptus oil in water to spray the dog bedding ( at the time they didn't have washable beds) and left it out in the sun as much as possible, I also put 10 drops of eucalyptus oils into a 200ml bottle of tea tree dog shampoo ( shake very well), the menthol action of the oil cools and calms the itching and is better at killing fleas that tea tree on its own. I always put eucalyptus drops on my dogs collars now too.
I hope you get rid of them soon, but remember to be very carefull when using essential oils as they might damage some types of fabrics and carpets when sprayed on. always do a test patch in an out of the way place first. Also becarefull when using them on your own or your dogs skin in case of irritation, again always test first and never use neat on you or your pets.

Re: Flea Infestation Need Help Please!
We're having the same problem at the minute with Skye (not a clue where she's got them from, our kitten is flea free!)
Noticed them today and went to the vet and got some frontline which was £30 for 3 pipettes, done my research and found you can buy them on amazon for a little over £20 with delivery for 6!
I've also ordered some Indorex household flea spray which claims to be effective for up to a year so fingers crossed!
Plus they've taken a severe liking to my fella's legs, must be all that fur LOL
