Re: NEED HELP
If he is fit and healthy then you need to be strong and stick to very strict rules with fussy eaters.
Simple put the food down leave it down for 10mins if he dont eat it pick it up and dont give him anything at all till next feeding time do the same again.
Dont give him treats if he is not eating his main meals and dont give him any food from yourself, dont make a big deal about him eating or not eating.
I would get him checked up at the vets though first as it could be a sign something else is wrong.
But if he is fit and healthy then dont be weak, dont hand feed him, dont make a fuss of his meal habits and stick to the proceedue above.
Normally takes a few days as they dont eat in protest of they want different food, or they have found they get alot of attention off you if they dont eat. But dont give in and give them different food or hand feed them ect you just make the problem worse.
We went through it with Molly she would eat 1 make of food fine for a while then go off it and would not eat, so we changed it, she eat it for a while then stopped. We were making a big fuss and trying to encourage her to eat, changing food bowls and trying hand feeding all this just made the problem worse. Soon as we adopted the idea of if you dont want to eat thats fine, problem went away.

Re: NEED HELP
You said you were feeding him 'whatever he would eat'
Does this mean he is eating some things just not his dog food?

Re: NEED HELP
Ah atleast you know what it is and something can get done to fix the issue.
Am sure he will be fine my mums dog Jake has had to have surgery for the same sorta thing before, he had been eating stuff he shouldnt and had to have it removed.
An yeah its bills like this why I would always recommend pet insurance of some sort to cover against things like this.

Re: NEED HELP
I would say that's enough, but just keep an eye on him - if it looks like he isn't gaining weight the way you'd like him to, increase it a bit.
