Hiya just thought you may like a update on how he is doing.

16 month old now Ronnie,so that's 8 months with us ( time flies when you have a dog )

He's doing absolutely brilliant been great with all dogs even the lab that pinned him down last week ( squeak like a pig poor thing ) pulled the lab off twice now. Yappy little dogs he just walks away from them these are by far the worst out there the owners let them run riot. His Best friend is Betty the boxer they play for hours on the fields around here, that said after we left them yesterday he ran off looking for her ( probably the naughtiest thing he has done luckily I got him back ) lead from now on if she leaves us, normally leave together in the leads.

Still intact and I believe this is why he is so level handed he is so relaxed asleep on me as I Type this. Have to wake him up some morning to take him out Haha sleep pig he is.

Re intact I may well keep them on as touch wood nothing from him re dog or domineering behaviour towards other dogs.

Gave him a bone and he would low growl raise his top lip show his teeth if I went near him obviously telling me I don't want you coming near me, but then would look at me come over and sort of apologise as if to say " I don't no where that came from dad sorry " then do it again. We will leave the bones alone I think....

Really is a very good place for information and help re Staffies

Ronnie looks just stunning on your profile pic. It sounds like your loving having him. I looked after a dogue de Bordeaux who used to growl at me over bones. We turned it into a drop game where she got lovely treats then left her in peace. Just cause I have children I didn't want her too protective over bones, they knew to leave her be with food tho. The forum is great isn't it, fantastic to learn or just chat about our dog family members

Thanks for the update Jamie, Sounds like Ronnie is doing great.

You might want to do a bit more work with the leave it command so that he drops that tasty bone immediately should you need him to, start with toys using high value treats and once he's going good with it try the bone and see what happens. Smile
