First of all would like to say thank you to everyone on this site esp the admin/owners. I have learned so much from this site and enjoy reading all the tips and information that is shared on Facebook. I have had so many questions answered and had some great feedback. My boy has come leaps and bounds since I took him on and this site has had a big part in the lovely little boy he is lol.

Another question I would like to ask I have a mainly white staff with some brown in him but the hair is driving me crazy all he has to do is come near me and I'm full of hair myself. I have a common brush for him the 1 with the soft side and metal teeth the other side but someone said that there is certain type of brushes for different dogs. Is this the wrong type ? Even when I stroke him a load of hair comes off him. Is there any way I can calm it down ? I love cuddles with him and won't stop but I'm starting to look scruffy myself being covered in hair everyone I go out now haha.

Staffys don't need much grooming get a brush metal one side soft brushes the other side . Firstly brush from the tail upwards to the head then reverse to the head then tail. Fish is fabulous for your dogs coat as is egg yolks 2x a week.

I don't tend to groom my staffs, other than just stroking and scratching with my hands (Nola is something else though!!!). If I did, I'd probably go for either just a soft brush or maybe a grooming mitt to encourage the loose hair out.

(ps - just noticed you're in Ipswich, that's really close!)

Rubber spiked brush works wonders but now I give Max raw sprats twice weekly he doesn't seem to shed that much and his coat shines like billy'o'

you can get mittens with one side velvety & tge other side knobbly rubber. Use the rubber side in a circular motion to loosen dead hair & then the otger side to polish. You can also get a Furminator for short coats, but it shouldn't be used on the tender parts such as face & belly.

I have a white staffie, I'm always covered in hair & everything that Katy touches is covered in hair Surprised I use a Zoom Groom on her & loads come out, but even stroking her for a while in the same area will leave a pile of white fur!! If you can find a solution other than shaving I would love to hear it Big Grin

My boy's a mix and seems to have 2 coats - fluffy floof that's a lightish beige colour, and then his brindle top coat. Think I might try feeding him more fish to see if he loses less, it's everywhere.

I just use a soft brush, both my dogs enjoy it. Rebel my puppy still gets groomed with a baby brush as his coat is so soft
