Hello all and I'm happy to join your community!
So recently I got a wee staffy pup it is only 6 weeks old.
He has had no injections from the breeder....
So I have my appointment for Thursday to get his first set of jabs
The wee fella is sleepy a lot which I know is normal his pops are of a good texture and is a playful wee thing but bites a lot, nearly everything specially feet(what should I do)
Also I am wondering how it will affect him missing out them extra weeks with his litter and his parents who where
Full staffs. Also I am unsure if I should start to train him now as he has not had his jags and I don't want him to go outside and get sick. What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated

Sad that he's missed out on those couple of extra weeks with his litter mates but sometimes these things happen and we have to do the best here on in. Very very short training sessions can start now but keep them brief. Start with the sit first and then move on to more adventurous commands.

The next thing to consider is socialisation, so as soon as the vet says it's ok get some training sessions booked and some puppy play days would be great too, your vet should be able to help with local classes and play dates. When older try and get him out and about getting used to different noises and environments as much as possible, the early months are when they learn the most.

Looking forward to seeing some pics Big Grin

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have started with the sit command with some treats today for completing the command. Once i speak to the vet and get his injections and the go ahead to take him out to socialise I will get a few classes for us to attend. How can I stop him from bitten all the time without being to bad towards him. What's the most sufecent way to do this. Thanks

You will have to get used to the biting haha. We were and still are full of bruises. Now that Gus is loosing his baby teeth he hardly ever mouths us. It's just what pups do to each other when they play. We would replace our hand with a toy for Gus to mouth instead of us.

James has pretty much said what I would in the post above, redirect any mouthing onto a toy so as to reinforce the idea that toys are for chewing humans are not.

My puppy is 9 weeks tomorrow & very bitey. We give him toys & he loves inside of toilet roll tubes. I like my 4 year old sons explanation, he says, Rebel isnt biting he Is exploring with his mouth haha
