Puppy classes Empty Puppy classes

I've been asking around about the puppy classes in the town I stay in. Apparently it's too crowded & goes on to long. A bit of a free for all so I won't be taking Rebel there. I have 2 recommended that are fairly near so am going on my own to watch first. Still have time as 2nd jab isn't till 21st.one class is ran by the dog warden & she is passionate about positive reward based training so her class sounds hopeful

That sounds very sensible. Letting pups get on with it can be fine if they are well matched but it's not always the case. You always need to make sure that smaller/more nervous pups don't get scared and that more excited ones don't get hyper, neither is good learning. Make sure it's all positive training and you want to feel at ease with the instructor, that they're considering each dog individually and that they're happy taking questions, etc. And none of this 'blame the staffie' rubbish that's still all too common!

The wrong class can do more harm than good, the 2 I'm going to see come highly recommended. Hopefully I'll get a good feeling from one of them. I really want Rebel to have very positive experiences with other dogs. Saxon is so good with him

Classes are great and the trainer who is passionate about reward based training sounds like our trainer. It's amazing when you have a trainer who listens to your dog. I must admit we have been doing adult dog classes for nearly two years with misty and I wouldn't stop going. I think we actually learn more than the dogs sometimes but it's great fun!

That's great you have a brill trainer & it's on going. If it's fun why stop, Misty will enjoy the mental stimulation
