Wormer

I have used Milbimax wormer for years now. Is this still the best one to use? I want something that covers lung worm and heartworm. What do others use? Thanks.

milbemax doesn't 'cure' lungworm, but it does 'discourage' it. i don't know about heartworm, as we don't have a problem with it in the UK.

advocate deals with lungworm (again, i don't know about heartworm), but must be applied monthly, which is a lot of harsh chemicals to use on your dog if there isn't a specific problem in your area.

I don't worm or flea Zeus unless I find there's a reason to. Like GillyBrent said, it's just a load of harsh chemicals on your dog, far too much and far too often.

I do put garlic in Zeus's food though, as it's a natural wormer.

I use nexgard + heartgard combination to cover all. If you don't know what to give to your dog, that combination might help you cover internal and external bugs including lungworms, heartworms, fleas and ticks all together.

I know Milbemax covers lungworm, which comes from they old slugs in the garden. I think it appears to be the most popular one. I used to use drontal which is good but my vet said Milbemax covers the lungworm as well and I don't think it is any dearer. Thanks for all the comments, helps me decide what to do. xx

no the question was for wormers I dnt feel the need to treat for other things unless necessary the heartworm isnt a problem in this country
