Socialising.
Hey Guys,
My Lola is 4 months now. I have socialised her to the best of my abilities - we went to Puppy classes, she spent time with my brothers dogs and has had daily trips to the park meeting dogs along the way.
Recently I've noticed instead of sniffing bums, she places her paw on other dogs heads. it seems younger dogs take it as an invite to play, whereas older dogs tend to snap at her - which after a few telling offs, puts her in her place.
Is this normal behaviour? Is it a sign of dominance? If so how do I teach Lola to approach dogs with a polite greeting?

Re: Socialising.
Misty has had several dogs do that to her in the park. Each time she had been fine with it, the owners are more shocked when they see their dogs doing it to her. The looks are their faces are priceless! I don't think it's a sign of dominance, the dogs that have done it to Misty have done it when she wasn't paying them enough attention and they wanted her to play. We met a gorgeous little Jack Russell pup in the park last week and he loved Misty. After having a chase he actually tried to climb on her head, he was using his paws to climb up her face! I think the older ones telling her off will teach her and I wouldn't worry but I'm sure someone with more experience will be along soon.

Re: Socialising.
Hi the other dog will tell her off when appopriate, its important to remember not all dogs like this behaviour and may be nervous with other dogs for whatever reason always do on lead introductions beforehand to get the dogs used to one another.

Re: Socialising.
I would not be alarmed either. Just continue to socialize and keep an eye on her
