My otherwise perfect dog is still eating his own poo :0(
Hi, Milo is still eating his own poo selectively, by that I mean if we feed him fish he doesn't eat it, but if he has any meaty bones, pork, beef or chicken mince, veg in it or left out he eats his own poo. We always clean it up immediately if we see him do it but this isn't always possible. I obv. don't want to give him a total fish diet, maybe mixing some fish in will help? Any other ideas folks? x

Jimi is the same. I read that if you give them Pineapple it turns them off doing it, we put a teaspoon of Pineapple juice in his food the other day and he smelt his poo and left it. I've been meaning to ask here actually if it's safe to put some Pineapple in his food regularly?

i was always told add some banana into his diet as its something missing .. i could be wrong but someone will surely be along with bit more knowledge on it lol .. Vinnie & skye did this at somepoint too vinnie grew outta it at about 12wks old and skye is now fully house trained so gets distracted by running round the garden so i can just go out poop scoop and its all gone.

Hi, I looked into it when he was younger but there are several theories and even more methods of which I've tried a few tbh I don't know for sure why he's doing it so it's more difficult to 'treat' iykwim?
However he was on garbage food from the pound and had runny poo's when he came and of course did not eat his poo then (thank god!) We put him onto hills science and he rapidly like in a day or 2 changed, lost the bloat had normal formed poos and began his dirty habit!! We changed onto Burns and the same continued on and off, we went raw and it's upped! He is given a good variety of raw meats in different forms including on and off the bone and has fruit and veg combinations, like I said before if it's fish he doesn't so much as sniff it barely lol!! I've said to my hubby maybe we should mix some fish in his meals and see if it deters him but?!
There's a theory about the protein making their poo smell more appetising or something so possibly it's an answer but again who knows! He's very fit and active and has great shape the picture of health, regularly wormed etc (another theory!) so ???? xx
