Hi ya,at the moment i feed Arthur on a dry mix puppy food,is he to young (8 1/2 weeks)to chew on a bone at the mo,im just a bit worried if he swallows pieces if it could do any damage,

Bones wont do him any harm, and its unlikely he will be able to break pieces off as he still has his puppy teeth. However dont give him anything too rich, I usually give chicken and lamb (raw obviously) at this age but make sure the lamb doesn't have too much meat on it as it can disagree with some pups. I have found beef bones in the past to cause bad bellys so steer clear of them til the dog is older. Other than that try to give non weight-bearing bones (they are less likely to splinter), chicken wings or leg quarters are perfect and are a meal in themselves!

hi there..
I think Arthur's mom would never stop him chewing on whatever.. not sure..that is how i feel...unless the bone is cooked (means= softer) and some bones if cooked they break into big sharp pieces...if raw goes little by little... no danger=(harder).

Can't add to that. Always raw, though, NEVER cooked!
