Angel Some questions from a newbee

Post by Peter Stafford Wed Jun 10 2015, 01:34

Hi,
Recently bought a Staffy (cannot wait to take her home in a couple of weeks) and i have have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with.
First of all I am looking for a book or dvd that explains the various commands to teach your dog including the accompanying gestures (I do not like to shout and this might come in handy in noisy places or at longer distances). The ones I have found sofar both in stores and online are all incomplete or too concise.
Secondly, I hear stag Antlers make great chewing toys for staffies. What size should I get?
And lastly, should I give my pup supplements? As we live in Brasil, our choice of (Healthy GMO-free) dogfoods is fairly limited, I am planning on feeding her Farmina N&D which appears to be one of the best foods here.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Cant help with the books but the antler get one cut in half long ways so the marrow is exposed that way she will learn that the good stuff is on the inside.

cheers

Sorry I can't help with the books or supplements either, I'm in Australia but I definately would recommend getting a stag bar (deer antler) they are SO good, can get months of chewing from one and as Stu says once they see the marrow inside they go nuts for them - helps with any boredom issues too ! I've just posted this link for someone else. Not a DVD, but some great puppy training videos:

I'd wait until she has all her adult teeth before I'd give a stag bar just in case.
