New food after tummy upset Empty New food after tummy upset

Miley has diarrhoea today. Vet has advised keeping her off food all day and try her with some boiled rice tonight and possibly tomorrow with a slow introduction of her food starting tomorrow. I was wanting to change her food (dried) anyway as she has terrible smelly wind with the food she is on. Would it be ok to move her straight onto the new food slowly with the rice over the next day or so or would I still need to mix with the old food for a week?

If she's having a change in diet with the rice anyway, I would just slowly move her onto the new food with that. I would imagine it would take more than just one meal of rice to get her tummy back to usual anyway Smile I would mix a little plain baked chicken breast into the rice also. What are you moving her onto?

Thanks Rachel, that was my thinking with it too but wanted to double check. I'm putting her on wainwrights. The local PAH had the 12 or 15kg bags of their own brand, wagg and some very bright coloured puppy food but none of the other brands apart from this one so decided it was the better of what was available.

I hope she feels better soon and gets on better with the new food! Smile I think a few feed Wainwrights on here and I have only heard good things!
