Poo
I remember seeing a post this but can't find it now to check the replies.
Ruby is 10 weeks and has been with us a week. She has settled lovely and is going outside for wees and poos and has no accidents. I've noticed that the number of poos she is having is increasing and she is now having 5-6 a day. She is having Wainwrights and eating 3 x a day. Her poos are firm and there's no problems but she just seems to be going a lot. Will this settle down once her bowel is stronger or should i be getting it checked. Thanks.

Re: Poo
Hi Angela....
How much food are you feeding Ruby for each meal? Is she getting any extra treats in between? Its quite a lot but not enough to worry about I wouldn't think. mine has 4 minimum a day and hes 2!
Im sure someone will be along shortly with some more advice.

Re: Poo
She has about 150g a day and just little treats as part of her toilet training. I'm going to stop them after the last meal to see if that helps. Thanks

Re: Poo
Puppies will usually go once after each meal. So if you are feeding 3 times a day and with extra treats between then it would probably be about right. I would assume that as she gains better control of her bladder it should decrease but as long as her stools are firm and normal then there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
There are other factors that could also be making her go more, such as the change of home and food, or just that the food isn't quite right for her so her body isn't absorbing as much of it, hence more poos per day. I would keep at it for a couple of weeks to see how it goes

Re: Poo
Agree with Emma. That's about normal for a pup but if it continues when she is older it could be she needs a different food

Re: Poo
Ok thanks for the reassurance. I'll keep my eye on things.
I forget she's only been here a week and although she feels like she's been here forever to us, it's all still brand new to her. I'll see how she goes and cut down the treats.
