Arnies now 17 weeks and on Pup food and is getting through this at an alarming rate lol!!
He has this and i do have to change it everynow again as he seems to like a new freesh smell and taste. What I wanted to know is when would you consider a good age for wet food and "adult" food? Hes wanting tinned meat especially and Im loathed to give it if im gonna make things worse for him at this young age?

I feed raw as well.

I wouldn't change to tinned if you can help it. For one thing it works out dearer as you have to give more than dried, but it really isn't great for their teeth.

If you feed dry then check their recommendations on the pack, as different companies advise different ages to go on to the next stage.

I got Moo at 8 months ish and she was put on a wet/dry mix, it was a special diet as she had a food intolerance, she loved it but it did work out quite expensive. She started on junior and with this food after a year she would have been adult.

Now I feed James Wellbeloved but she is nearly 2. Most food will say at what age to increase meals etc. A dry Kibble in my opinion is better for there teeth etc, but I won't knock a good quality wet food as Moo thrived on it. Have a look at some of these recommendations they might help

I have my two on a wet and dry mix ... partly because dry food never seems to fill my two up and they get bored of it so easily! .. i had vinnie on dry food for a while at one stage but he just didnt seem happy with it, he would pick at it etc, put him back on wet/dry mix and he loved it.

I'd get him off the Bakers, to be honest (we're gonna end up getting sued by Bakers soon!). It's full of colours, scents & flavourings that are no good at all for your dog & are only there to please the human eye & nose!

I know it's a bit more difficult, but have you thought about raw and dry feeding? Raw meat for the morning feed & dry for the evening?

if he has too much wet food he gets a little runny poo wise and that worries me! he refuses dry on its own, chicken seems a little rich if he has too many pieces, not that hes had loads but it does seem to make him runny, not excessive but enough to worry me lol!!
Which dry food would anyone recommend?

Do take some time to read through the above topic - I know it's 4 pages, but it'll give you a reasonable idea of which foods are good, and then you can see which ones you can easily get in your area.

Ongoing problem with Moo and her runs. The wet food helped initially, but, after over a year I am only finally getting a result from being on JWB, dry kibble. Its been trial and error really. I did a lot of research (everyone here helped). I had Moo health tested for everything (she was a rescue) because of her runs. I wouldn't fret too much really Arnie needs to settle more. Have a good read and ask anything that your worried about Smile
