New puppy Empty New puppy

Post by Kauto Wed Nov 19 2014, 16:01

Hi all. We're picking our little boy up in just over a week. So excited. We know it's going to be hard but fun.
We're novices at this though. Just looking for a bit of advice on what we should have for him for his first night. We've got a crate and the breeder's supplying us with a scented blanket of mum and a few bits of food etc.
Any essentials that we should buy?

Thanks for the reply. We plan on getting a few toys and a puppy Kong for him. Unsure what to put in it as of yet though. We're in the middle of doing a house up that we've just bought so we're leaving 2 rooms downstairs very minimal for the settling in period haha.
Also, I know it's pedantic but I always have to correct people on his name, it's Kauto Big Grin after my favourite race horse Kauto Star

Exciting times ahead Big Grin

It's been a long time since I've had a puppy so probably not much use to you or Kauto but it sounds like your on track.

When you get a min, pop along here and say Hi:-

He is gorgeous. We keep going to visit him every week to see how he's doing. Booked in at the vets for his jabs on the 1st Dec so hopefully be able to take him for his first walk around Christmas time.
We're going to take him out in the car a few times and walk holding him to get him used to the outside world.
Just hope he'll settle in well Smile

Best of luck. A TV or radio will help make the crate training easier.
