Beau has lost her sparkle!

Hi all, probably worrying over nothing but as a first time staffy owner I thought I'd ask. My pup beau is a little over six months old now and is my absolute world, just the week she seems to have lost her sparkle and yesterday seemed to be off her food , which is unusual as she usually eats so fast it's unreal! Just got in from work and usually she's at the kitchen door ready to be made a fuss of, but today has just stayed in her bed looking sorry for herself! Any advice would be gladly accepted thank you

Hey if she's off her food id pop her into the vets for a quick check up. There is a nasty 48 hour virus around at the moment according to my vet. Axl had it and he was the same. He slept for two days and looked very sorry for himself. It's horrid when they are like that isn't it

Our pup came into season at 6 months and 3 weeks. Does she look swollen? From what I've read they can go quiet or hyper during this time. Our pup was just a little mardy at times.

yes does sound like her first season is starting soon,sash did exactly the same stayed in her bed and was off her food,just keep a close eye on her

My first thoughts too her first season, keep an eye on her but pop to vets if no better

Sounds like she is coming into heat. You could stop by the vets for peace of mind

How is Beau today?

Hi, thanks everyone, so just to be sure i took beau to the vet on Friday, nice vet gave her a check over and said she seemed fine, although she did say she had a bit of a temperature! At the time i was trying to hold her still while the vet put a thermometer up her bot! Pretty sure I would have had a temperature to if someone was doing that to me!

We were away Saturday night and got a call from my daughter to say beau had been sick about 4 times so my mum took her to the emergency vets, they gave her a blood test which came back clear, thank god! They also gave her some mess to settle her tum and some sensitive stomach food, she seems ok today(Sunday) but I think if she's sick again maybe a tummy X-ray is the next step
