Can I just ask why James Wellbeloved is not on the list. I thought this was a good quality food and have fed all my dogs on this. I am a bit worried now though they do seem to be thriving, Alfie has been fed it since he was a tiny puppy and has grown into a very healthy pooch! I would def change their food though if it is poor quality.

I feed James wellbeloved as well alfiestaff and my dogs thrive on it. The foods on the list are litterally the best i could find and although james wellbeloved is definatley better than alot out there it's not quite as good as the ones listed. I would still reccommend it though.... Big Grin

I give Blue wainwrights and it has stopped him passing wind. It's the only food he has had that he wags his tail at and it has never upset he stool like all the others did as soon as I put 5% of it into his bowl.

I have tried probably 10 top brands spent a fortune buying small bag of each.....Apart from pasta and cooked skinless chicken, wainwrights was the only one that didn't give him the runs.......but not only that it was hurting him to the point of him not eating anything cos he knew it would give him stomach aches if he did.....but wainwrights he went straight for right from the start.
Plus when I get kaiser I won't have to mess about mixing his food 5% every couple of days changing over to my choice Big Grin

Blue was the same kaiser......but think it was cos the other food wasn't aggreeing with him so he knew it would cause him an upset stomach....so he wasn't keen on eating it. He hasn't had loose stool since he has been on it and he had it every other day on other foods.

As Shane says, change it over gradually & you won't upset his tummy.

Royal Canin is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I've always tried to give my dogs the best food I could afford. I actually now feed raw (have done for a while now) but if I used dry I'd probably use Royal Canin.

Haha! I'd do it over about a week/10 days. Just decrease the old & increase the new a little at a time.

If you're still giving the same overall amount then she won't eat too much of the new too early.

my opinion of royle canine is really good memphis has went from 1.5kg at 7 weeks and got him weight today at 17 weeks and he now 11.9 kg over 2 pounds a week its deff good for them but dont know about the wind they get.
iv been trying him on pero this week also good but seen no diff in the wind stakes so will prob go back to the royle canine
also dont forget the cod liver oil for his coat

I feed totally raw. Dempsey gets raw meaty lamb's ribs & necks plus raw minced tripe. A couple of times a week he gets offal of some sort (anything except liver - the only dog I've ever known that doesn't like liver!). You can also give raw chicken wings (all bones fed must be raw, and not the large, weight bearing ones) and carcasses, although I don't as Dempsey is chicken intolerant! I don't feed beef as it makes him hyper. I give him a teaspoon of cod or salmon liver oil twice a week. Fruit & veg may be given, although it isn't totally necessary. Dogs can only digest pulped veg, although I give mine a raw carrot or some raw cabbage every so often because he likes them (he even likes raw sprouts)! Fruits good and most dogs will enjoy a bit of apple or banana sometimes.

From a personal point of view, Dempsey is very healthy on this. His teeth are clean (I rarely have to brush them) and he doesn't suffer too badly with wind. He also eats less raw than he would dry so that helps to guard against bloat a little more (Dempsey, having suffered bloat once already, is more susceptible to it now).
