Bloody Chicken! Empty Bloody Chicken!

Post by moussepig Wed Oct 08 2014, 09:29

Well, its been a while - my furbabies have both been idyllic. However, Sunday Ruby decided that jumping up on the kitchen counter and stealing the stripped chicken carcass off the side was a great plan. I noticed what she had done just in time to take the last tiny bit off her. She had no choking, no major issues etc. Her poo is fine, no bones, no blood, no trouble going that we can see. Shes had no vomiting ect. She just doesn't seem herself. Shes very quiet. Shes eating, drinking, playing and sleeping fine. Her stomach isn't tender ect and shes not whining or having any other difficulties. Im just a bit iffy about her not being herself.
I dont know if its vet worthy and to be honest, I do have a tendency to panic, take them to the vet and the vet say shes fine.
Any advice from you lovely peeps would be amaze!

Hmmm difficult one as I am a panicker too but if she's still eating and drinking and her toilet is okay and no vomiting I think probably just keep an eye on her. She may be tired from all that food! If she's still not herself or she starts to vomit or not go to the toilet i'd take her.

I wouldn't rely on whining as a sign, as you probably know, staffies don't really show pain Smile

3 days does seem a bit excessive though. It's a hard one to judge if she's still eating and drinking and not vomiting.

If it's 3 days and she's not herself I think maybe you should pop her down to the vets just in case Smile

Maybe give the vet a ring and have a chat? This is what I tend to do if I'm unsure about bringing her in - my vet is pretty good and won't bring us in unless he's concerned, though not all vets are so honest!

HIya, thanks for your advice, I rang the vet and decided just to keep an eye, shes much better now, Ive come to the conclusion that her sulking was down to a dicky tummy and the fact that she doesnt like the cage at home. Cage removed - dicky tummy cleared up. Hmmmmm.
