9 week old poorly pup Empty 9 week old poorly pup

Post by Kelz99 Sun Sep 28 2014, 19:39

Is it normal for a puppy to become ill after it's first injection and worming tablet ? I had him for 3 days before his treatment and he was fine, he was eating well and had no runny poos but he is now being sick after eating and there's been no change in his diet ect so I'm thinking till I can get to the vets tomorrow then maybe I should fast him, and only allow water ?? Would this be ok for such a young pup, thanks in advance for advice

Hiya I would pop him along to the vets best to be safe as he is so young. Why not pop and say hi here when you have a mo x

I wouldn't worry too much it's either the jab or the worming. Peppa had it last time I wormed her. Just don't feed him anymore tonight only little bit water. Tomorrow give him boiled chicken and whith rice in small doses and if he's still poorly call the vet. Is he being sick has the runs or both??

It could well be the wormer. Book him into the vets first thing in the morning because young pups can become dehydrated quickly. Also he might need additional treatment depending on the severity of his reaction (if it is his wormer that's the problem). In the meantime I'd give him just water and maybe a bit of boiled rice later during the day tomorrow, unless the vet says different.

Hope the little one is feeling better! He would be too young to starve, so try a little plain boiled chicken and rice. Small amounts and often Smile
