Lol, when I got vinnie he was given advocate from the vet which said on the box it tackles tape worm and hook worm I think it was etc obv cuz tapeworm comes from the flea doesn't it? Don't quote me tho'! Haha I do know I went out and got wormiong tabs too! As I didn't feel it was doing the worming side good enough.

Does drontal do heartworm too? With the snails and slugs out I'm on edge haha!

Drontal or Panacur are both good in my experience.

I use Milbemax for worming and Effipro for fleas. I always get them from the vets as i was always taught animal medication doesn't work unless prescripted or atleast isn't as good.

I use drontal. The only wormers I got from the vet didnt work. I gave it to Charlie and found worm in his poo less than a week later. i posted about it here. I've never had any probs with Drontal.

Drontal isn't classed as a medication when buying over the net, its a basic over the counter 'drug', you can actually buy it at chemists, even Boots! If its a medication you geneally have to pay £10 from a vet to get a pescription, if your on a long course of antibiotics, over the net is very safe and cheaper x

It isn't heartworm that you need to worry about in the UK, it's lungworm. That's the one that can be picked up from slugs & snails.

I use one from my vet because it covers all the normal worms plus lungworm, which means I only have to give him the one medication. It costs me about £6 for the two tablets he needs for his weight (31 kilos).
