Are we mad?
Well has most of you may know, we have had our milo for a couple of months now. He is growing fast and at 17 weeks old already. Anyhow, on the marketplace where I work, there is a woman from one of the local animal rescue centers who often advertises dogs/cats/rabbits needing re-homed etc. Now when I have gone on today, she has another advert on for a little Staffy girl, 10 weeks old in the kennels looking for a loving new home.
Am I mad to even consider taking on another one at this time?
Also just been asked today by my sisters neighbour if we would like another staffy (6 months old), think she said it was her sisters. they have just had a baby and cant cope anymore.

Try them out together, couldn't do any harm, as long as you have the time

Re: Are we mad?
I dont know what to do, ha.
My OH does relief work, so is most likely to be at ome more now aswell. I dont think she was too keen on taking on the 6 month old, plus its a little lad aswell. Think she's a bit worried that it could cause problems long term with Milo. Dominance, figts etc.
I just felt so sorry for the little girl being in kennels at 10 weeks old, Im just a big softie, ha.
I may enquire about it and see what her story is and then make a decision.

If you have the time, and I think thats very important, then its worth a try. Doesn't mean you have to have another right now, you could try fostering and see how Milo gets on. I would love another but I don't have the time or money. Worth a thought x

my opinion....would u be mad......yes! You really will make things hard for your self with two such young ones. If u wanna rescue/help another dog rescue a older bitch to help your pup learn the ropes. That pup will get snapped up its the older dogs that normally end up in kennels for years x

Re: Are we mad?
Thanks for your opinions people. I enquired about her anyhow, but she has gone to a home already. It turns out though that she wasnt actually in the kennels, she belonged to a friend of the the woman who works with the kennels.
Blaze - What are your two dogs like together, being 2 same sex dogs, do they get on well?

They get on like a house on fire and love eachother to bits. I would never of chose two of the same sex though....Kaos sort of fell into my arms, his breeder (if u can call it that) was a friend of a friend etc who couldnt "get rid" of him and was going on holiday so was just going to "deal with it" if u get my drift.
We have had to work very hard with our boys though and will never be able to let our guard down. x

Re: Are we mad?
Yeah, I get what you mean. Thats terrible!
My sister has two boys, one a Yorkshire terrier and the other is my nanas old dog, which he is just a black and tan terrier of some kind, ha. They both get on great, and have never fought or had any real disagreements.
I definately think I will be saying no to my sisters neighbour though, who was wanting us to take the little lad on, even though he is only 2 month older than Milo.
