Bad Pru!
So stressed about Pru's bad behaviour on our walk today!
We went to the park as usual, at the moment its usually full of families picnicking and its a short cut up to the high street so occassionally people walk through on their way to work or stop in on their lunch break. Most of the time I keep her on the extending lead just to stop her running up to kids or trying to steal from picnics but today the park was relatively empty so I let her off for a good roll in the grass. A well dressed lady came into the park and sat down on benches right over the other side of the park today and Pru spotted her, went running over right across to the lady and started flailing around at her feet (her normal stoke-my-tummy hello greeting) she was in work clothes and didn't look impressed, she jumped up and was trying to get away from Pru who carried on the flailing. I called and called her but she would not come back to me! The lady shouted "will you come and get him?" (everyone thinks shes a boy) and I had to run over, put Pru on the lead and apologise to the woman.
I am so embarrassed! Her recall has always been very good up until now. Now I am worried about letting her off the lead again!

Re: Bad Pru!
I would suggest getting a training line and practicing recall, you can't really let her off until it's perfected

Oh Pru
I guess more recall training is in order. Get Pru back on the long lead and use those high value treats to get her back into the recall habit.

Re: Bad Pru!
Can only echo the above - high value treats, long line and lots of recall practise. And plenty of patience

Re: Bad Pru!
Thanks guys. Its so frustrating because I thought we'd got her recall down! Going back to a training lead!

Always a good idea until after the teenage phase
