New puppy!
We are collecting our new puppy in 2 weeks!!! Very excited! A gorgeous black and white boy that has fantastic pedigree! Is there any hints or tips that people can offer us to help prepare and get us off to the best possible start with the new member of our family??

Re: New puppy!
Exciting news! Bet you can't wait.
I take it you've got all the necessary stuff - bowls/bed/food/toys etc?
Advice-wise, I'd just say be kind, firm & consistent with a huge dollop of love thrown in & you'll be fine.
Oh, and post lots of pics here!

Re: New puppy!
Hiya, congrats on the new puppy! So exciting!!
My advice would be to get a crate if you don't have one already, they are lifesavers.
Another must is patience! they can be pains in the butt when they're little. Some take ages to housebreak (Mine wasn't housetrained til he was about 6 months!) Others are destructive, others are nippy, the list goes on. As long as you set the boundaries from day one, and be firm but gentle, consistent, patient and lavish praise on them when they do good, you'll be fine.
Keep us updated and...... PICS PLEASE!!!!

Re: New puppy!
my advice is enjoy your last 2 weeks of carefree bliss and leisure !! haha.. Trust me that will soon be shattered when you bring your little pup home... I know !! hahaha
But it will be worth it that's for sure. I wouldn't swap Winston for all the tea in China.. ( and I LOVE my cups of tea!! )

Ditto!!
for all of that i love Woodys mischievious behaviour but when he was tiny i really needed a rest sometimes with being on my own it was just relentless! im guessing its likehaving a baby, but worseas most of them dont have razor sharp teeth!!
my bit of advice not already posted would be to puppy proof your house to make sure there is nothing within reach that puppy can damage or can damage him. soooo exciting though

Re: New puppy!
Thanx all for your lovely comments! The breeder is sending me some pics of the first couple of weeks. So as soon as i get them i will post some! Cant resist going to see him tomoro!! Breeder is very understanding that way which is nice! Tryin to decide on a name at the mo.... Didnt realise it would be so tricky... Or we would be so picky!!! Like the name kobi at the moment tho......

It's a very informative post. highly recommended for all new puppy owners because early socialisation is vital for staffies.
